You pass your school, you make it through the high school nightmare, you get into your desired field and boom! You’re making a good living. Have you ever known that one out of 4 of your classmates, 1 drops out! Why did he/she do this? Why would you even drop out of the high school you’ve always wanted to get into?
Here are some major issues that most of the students go through before they really decide to drop out.
Table of Contents
Money Counts
Most of the universities in USA and UK are your dream but you either end up getting in on loans or you need a lot of help with money to graduate. You’ll find yourself lucky if you got the full fledge scholarship but if you end up paying your fee, you might find it hard to go through leaving yourself in a financial stress.
According to “Times Higher Education”, One out of five students in Germany broke off their studies due to poor financial support.
To get a degree, you must get an affordable high school first.
Stay Motivated
The environment that surrounds you impacts you and your personality. No wonder this environment alters you in your high school. Now if you find it quite fresh, you will be graduating in the upcoming years but if the people surrounding you are disturbing your focus towards what you should be doing, you might end up dropping out.
When you do not know where the ship is going, chances are high for you to leave. Reports prove that 46% of the students in the US are dropouts. Most of that percentage is a major effect of a demotivating environment.
Diverging Pressure
You got into a US law college but your parents want to see you as a doctor. You want to become a doctor, your uncle wants you to be an engineer. You are willing to become a pilot but someone more important to you has another desire to fit you into.
This whole dilemma that surrounds you gets you more uncomfortable. You want to quit everything and take a break. You end up leaving your university.
Weary Syllabus
Now the subject you’re into might be of your interest, you’re good to go. If it’s a burden, there you have another reason to get out of high school. You can end up under performing due to the intensity of your work. You are not able to manage that anymore.
Eventually you lose and give up. If you really want to get through that, try getting a subject of your interest but if you have pulled yourself into a major problem by selecting a subject with huge amount of content or you have a month left and a whole lot of work to study, you will find yourself at the edge of braking off your studies.
If you want to make it to the end, you should really find a way of finishing that syllabus.
Adapting College life
Many of the students are new to the sudden environmental change and they are unable to bare the issues coming forth in this new life. They are not aware of the actual cruelty of the society and end up being anxious and depressed. They need time adapting to this new life.
They quit higher education because they simply aren’t ready for it
Dissatisfaction
An institute is defined by the staff it has and the teaching it gives you. You cannot define it by the shape of its building neither its beauty. Most of the students are not satisfied with the quality of education they are being served with. They are ready to get out of the university anytime soon.
Make sure that the education you want is the education they give you before getting into a university so you don’t end up wasting a crucial amount of your time.
Barking Up The Wrong Tree
Pick a subject that really helps you. A subject that you know wouldn’t suck. You open up the book and just keep going through it with love. Picking up the right major is really hard and worth struggle. 80% of students eventually realize that the major isn’t the desired one and won’t lead to a quality job.
Why Is It Bad?
Dropping out of university is bad in a sense that most of your time is being wasted and it’s not your fault. You did want to get through it but the factors won’t support you.
A lot of anxiety and depression hits your way and you are short of choices.
“I quit simply because it bored!” You end up being left with no options to choose. You even want to quit on your life and you just feel so disappointed.
Why It Isn’t
It’s not that bad after all to be a dropout. You have a new beginning to start with. Taking too much stress won’t help and you should rather be wasting that energy on thinking of something that you are optimistic about that it will lead me to a better tomorrow. This optimism is the engine to keep you going through your hard times and to get you to the times you never want to forget.
It Doesn’t Matter
Drop out doesn’t mean you’re a failure. Every demotivated and depressed event in your life gives you a chance of starting again. There are many examples out there who were drop outs but they didn’t really care and kept on going. A few as an example;
- Mark Zukerberg – Owner of Facebook
- Bill Gates – Founder of Microsoft
- Steve Jobs – Founder of Apple Inc
